The Negroni Sbagliato was first prepared around 1969, when Mirko Stocchetto, Maurizio Stocchetto’s father, the present owner of the famous Bar Basso in Milano, added by mistake (sbagliato means wrong) sparkling wine instead of gin. Mirko was aware of the fact that the mixture could work and proposed it to his client, who appreciated it.
